Over 14,000 hours of guiding high-achieving students to master the SAT
For over a decade, I’ve devoted my career to guiding ambitious students to exceptional results on the SAT and ACT. With perfect scores on both exams and expertise in how students learn best, I bring a rare combination of mastery and teaching that delivers proven results.
What sets my approach apart is the personal investment I make in each student’s journey. That’s why I accept only a handful of families at a time: to ensure every student receives my full attention, hours of behind-the-scenes investment, and custom materials designed just for them, a level of support that no group class or pre-packaged course could ever match.
The outcome? Students who achieve 250+ point increases, secure admission to Ivy and top-20 universities, and gain the confidence to excel far beyond test day.
When we work together, you’re securing a private mentor whose entire specialty is elite test preparation and your student’s success.

While most companies rely on generic, outdated resources, I invest in the latest editions and create custom materials tailored specifically to your student’s needs. With 14,000+ hours of tutoring experience, I know exactly which resources will deliver measurable gains.
Every student learns differently. Using advanced techniques from cognitive science and educational psychology like spaced retrieval and memory scaffolding, I adapt my approach to how your child’s brain works best. This isn’t one-size-fits-all tutoring; it’s precision coaching.
The right materials and methods only matter if your student has the right person guiding them. With perfect scores on both exams, advanced training in how students learn, and over a decade of experience, I provide mentorship that consistently produces top-tier results.
I could tell right away that my son trusted Gloria and enjoyed working with her... I have owned a tutoring business in the past and have interviewed many tutor candidates. Gloria has a very rare quality of someone with mastery of the topic, passion for teaching, and the ability to connect with students. I will use her service again for my younger children when they need to prepare for college entrance exams in the future.
- Amy C.
Gloria worked with our sons during covid through zoom. She kept them on task, and was laser focused on what they each needed to do to improve their SAT scores. They finally got to take the exam, and they couldn't be happier with the outcome, scoring in the 99th percentile. Very happy with the individual attention and focus.
- Marcy G.
My daughter did about eight 90 minute weekly tutoring sessions prior to December. Gloria gave her SAT and ACT tests to determine my daughter's strengths. Based on the initial results, my daughter wanted to take the SAT and improve by 150 points to get to 1500 or higher. We are happy to say that she succeeded on her first attempt and will not be taking a SAT exam again!
- Kristina L.
Gloria is an amazing tutor! In just a few months, I was able to raise my score from mid 1300s to a 1540! Her teaching strategies are super helpful and really helped me understand how the SAT functions. I found it to be so much more effective than a group SAT school. If you're looking for a tutor, Gloria is the best one there is!

I understand you want the best for your student. My FAQ may help you learn more about their SAT prep journey.
The ideal time to begin is 3–6 months before the intended test date.
Many families start during the summer after sophomore year to take advantage of lighter schedules and build momentum early, but this isn’t crucial to the students success. I also work with students who start later and need to make fast progress.
Regardless of the timeline, I create a focused plan that fits your child’s schedule, academic load, and dream college goals.
SAT – Emphasizes logic, reading comprehension, and structured problem solving.
ACT – Moves faster with an emphasis on quick thinking, and favors students stronger in reading and writing skills (66% of the total score, compared to 50% on the SAT).
While colleges view both tests equally, the changes to the ACT in 2025 have made it less predictable, with fewer high-quality practice resources available.
Normally, I would start with a diagnostic test and analyze the student’s performance to determine which test maximizes their score and potential. However, due to the current limitations of the new ACT, I recommend students focus on the SAT until the ACT stabilizes.
Each program follows a two-phase structure:
Phase 1: We assess for (and if needed, build) a strong foundation by mastering essential concepts such as grammar rules, math formulas, reading strategies, and more.
Phase 2: We shift to full-length practice tests and targeted review to correct mistakes, refine strategies, dissect thought processes, and build confidence under timed conditions.
Each student and session is unique, and the next optimal steps are a careful blend of direct instruction, strategy coaching, and customized review, all tailored to your student’s needs.
All sessions are held and recorded on Zoom using screen sharing, collaborative whiteboards, and shared notes. The format is highly interactive and feels just like sitting side-by-side.
Students are often more focused and comfortable at home, and parents appreciate the flexibility it brings to their family’s schedule.
Results are just as strong as in-person; my students regularly achieve 200+ point gains working entirely online.
Most families opt for 90-minute sessions to allow for depth, momentum, and meaningful progress in each meeting. One-hour sessions are also available for students who are already scoring in the 1400s or working on a longer preparation timeline.
I’ll help you determine the best fit based on your student’s goals and schedule.
I typically offer tutoring sessions from Sunday through Friday, between 12:00 PM – 7:30 PM (PST) during the school year.
I am always willing to work with your family to find consistent, convenient times that fit your student’s schedule.
Please note that for an accurate estimate, an initial evaluation of your student is best. However, plans are flexible and adjusted based on performance and progress.
Most students achieve their goals in 12 to 25 sessions.
Students aiming for significant gains or highly competitive scores may need more, while ambitious students may reach their goals with fewer sessions.
I do not offer a guarantee.
It’s important to read the fine print of companies that advertise guarantees. Most are voided by strict, unrealistic conditions (such as excessive hours of mandatory homework every night), which are designed more to protect the company than to help students.
Each of my students receive a fully personalized experience because I am deeply invested in every student I work with, and families continue because of the results, care, and consistency I bring to the process.
I keep things honest, flexible, and focused on what truly matters: your child’s progress.
Right Materials
Most tutors rely on outdated prep books or “one-size-fits-all” curriculums built for recent college graduates to follow. I invest in the latest College Board materials and design personalized resources matched to your student’s unique needs.
With 14,000+ hours of experience, I know exactly which materials produce results, and I spare no expense ensuring your student has access to the best.
I’ve developed exclusive study guides, memory techniques, and reference sheets that aren’t available anywhere else. These tools, refined through thousands of tutoring hours, help students master key concepts faster and retain strategies longer.
They give your student an advantage I once wished for myself, created by a tutor who earned a perfect 1600.
I strategically set aside official College Board exams for crucial diagnostics and final readiness checks, while using premium unofficial questions for practice.
This ensures your student gets extensive exposure without exhausting the limited official tests they need for accurate progress tracking, a common mistake in other prep programs.
Based on your student’s diagnostic results, I assign problem sets that precisely target their weak areas. Instead of generic homework packets, I take the time to strategically curate questions that accelerate your student’s improvement and progress.
When a student struggles with a specific skill, I know exactly which resource will make the difference. I personally select and ship those materials directly to your door, an extra step that ensures your student always has what they need to succeed.
Right Methods
We start by identifying exactly what your student already knows and what gaps need filling.
Before jumping into advanced techniques, I make sure every fundamental concept is solid first. This prevents the score plateaus that happen when students try to build higher-level skills on shaky foundations.
I teach students to see through the SAT’s disguises. The test is designed to trick students while gauging critical thinking, so there is no true “shortcut” strategy. If such shortcuts worked, the SAT would be a poor test of knowledge.
Instead, I show students how one concept can appear in multiple question formats. Once they recognize these patterns, they can approach unfamiliar questions with confidence because they understand the core logic behind every problem type.
Perfect answers mean nothing if you can’t finish the test.
I develop personalized pacing strategies based on your student’s natural working speed and accuracy.
They learn exactly when to spend additional minutes and when to move on, maximizing points while using their time strategically.
Rather than just reviewing wrong answers, we analyze why mistakes happen and build systems to prevent them.
Your student develops habits and checkpoints that catch errors before they happen, turning potential point losses into confident, correct answers.
I prepare students for every aspect of test day, from the night-before routine to calmly handling difficult and unexpected questions.
Through realistic practice and time-tested performance strategies, your student walks into the test center prepared, confident, and ready to succeed.
Right Tutor
It isn’t enough to say that someone graduated from Harvard, or they themselves once got a perfect score – because the SAT changes regularly.
While I achieved a perfect score years ago, I retake the exam every year to ensure I can still replicate those results with today’s tests. This ongoing effort not only proves my methods still work, it continually sharpens how I teach them, so your student benefits from the most up-to-date strategies available.
I understand not just what to teach, but how your student’s brain learns best, allowing me to adapt my methods to their unique learning style for maximum efficiency.
Effective strategies depend on the student, and I bring expertise in quickly identifying and applying the ones that work best for your student.
I intentionally work with a limited number of students so I can devote the unbilled hours of preparation and personalized attention each family deserves. This exclusivity ensures your student is not just another client.
When deadlines and college dreams are on the line, I remain flexible for rescheduling and available for questions outside of sessions, ensuring your student never loses momentum.
I would know, because I once worked for companies that advertised it. The truth is, many of these so-called “top tutors” are simply recent Ivy League graduates. They are bright, yes, but they have little experience teaching or understanding how students actually learn.
My approach is different: a decade of full-time SAT tutoring, thousands of hours with students, and research-based methods grounded in educational psychology.
My students consistently break into the 1500+ range and gain admission to top-tier universities because I focus on taking ambitious students to the highest levels of performance.
I understand the unique challenges and mindset shifts required to move from good scores to exceptional ones. My proven track record shows how I guide high achievers push past plateaus and reach the scores that open doors to life-changing opportunities.
